Frequently Asked Questions

  • Pediatric DPC is a healthcare model which allows doctors and patients to have a relationship which does not involve insurance companies. By removing these restrictions, it allows a physician to provide more direct access and more personalized care, a true doctor-patient relationship.

  • Whole Health Pediatrics operates independently from insurance networks. We don't have contracts with insurance companies, and we don't directly bill insurance for our services. As an out-of-network provider, we provide insurance-ready receipts (superbills) for our services, which you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. Check with your insurance company about out-of-network coverage.

Our pricing is transparent. We have non-member a la carte pricing. We also have exclusive all access monthly membership fee. You will know your health costs upfront. This means no unexpected bills, no copays, and no hidden fees for visits.

You can most likely use HSA/FSA to pay for the membership fee, making it tax-deductible. We recommend that families check with their plan to determine if it can be used.

  • While not required, we strongly advise families to consider maintaining a health share plan, high-deductible insurance, or catastrophic insurance plan. These can provide coverage for specialist services and emergencies like ER visits, surgery, or hospitalization. Additionally, insurance can be used to cover expenses such as labs, medications, and imaging.

We recommend consulting with a financial advisor or insurance representative to help you choose the most suitable plan for your needs.

  • No, membership can be canceled any time by giving 30 days notice.

  • Dr. Hierholzer strongly believes in the safety and efficacy of vaccines as one of the most essential preventive measures for children's health. She recommends adhering to the vaccine schedule outlined by trusted organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It's worth noting that Dr. Hierholzer's own children have received vaccinations according to this schedule. However, recognizing that families may have questions or concerns about vaccinations, we are here to offer information, address any apprehensions, and ensure that families feel confident and comfortable with the care and safety of their child.

  • We do not pressure families to vaccinate or mandate vaccinations. We respect each family's decision regarding vaccination and work collaboratively to ensure every child receives excellent pediatric care tailored to their individual needs.

  • Per Florida guidelines, Vaccine exemptions need to be done through the local Health Department.
